Twice today I heard that question when friends checked out my new Hyundai Genesis: “Is it a Ferrari?”
Just in case you are joining me here on DRIVING MISS SHARI and don’t know the car purchase history, I wrote about how LinkedIn helped me buy my new car on my SHARISAX IS OUT THERE blog.
Nope, it’s not a Ferrari; it’s way better!
WHY?
First off, it’s mine . . . my first sports car, and it is so exciting to drive and to hear the compliments:
Yesterday someone stopped me at a gas pump to ask what kind of car it was because it looked like something he and his wife were looking for. Then within the space of four hours, an additional three people stopped me to ogle and ask questions; it’s just that cool!
Today, another half dozen or so people sang its praises to me. And who knows how many people just gawk without me even being able to count them in the growing Hyundai Genesis Fan Club.
Yes, I’m starting a Fan Club — never done that before, but this car seems like the time and place to begin. It may be all about “Influence and Popularity” — another article in my social media blog that I called “What’s wrong with the LIKE button.” [I wrote a version of that story for my East Coast friends at CompuKol Communication: "Popularity and Influence as they are Manifested in Social Media."]
“Is that the car that I read about in Consumer Reports? The Korean luxury car that’s so much less expensive than the Brand Names?”
YUP . . . the very same. And it’s still a steal because no one knows about them yet . . . or will they now?
What do you think? Worth a test drive? Let me know if you try one out.
PS I just learned how to use the GPS, the bluetooth, the “magic” door unlock, and much more.
