I was having a conversation with my mom about business and ethics. She's in the health care profession, with thrives on it's customer service the way Sam's does, but she's always been experiencing back lash in trying to clean up what a dirty, former COO left behind for her. As honesty is always the best policy, how, if I might ask, it it possible for a company owned by Wal-Mart now? Considering how much scrutiny Wal-Mart has gotten for its ethics toward its employees, it makes you wonder.

Great post again Shari. Ethics is a biggie for me. It falls in line with being in integrity. I'm not sure where I got this but I make decisions based upon these questions. Does it serve to get you closer to your goals? Will it not adversely effect anyone else? Do you feel good about it? If you can answer yes then it's a go.

Ilana, I, too, teach English . . . and am very interested in reading essays and stories on ethics.
:-)
I wrote that story for Wal-mart/Sam's Club while I was also teaching an ethics lesson to my PR students.
