Sharing is cool, especially when people share your Tweets. Did you realize that the WORDS YOU USE can help — or hinder — your Tweets from being Retweeted?
It’s scientific. Dan Zarrella reported his research in a slideshare presentation:
What’s wrong with these words?[a little levity]
And if you want to learn more about the science of social media read my last post on Dan’s webinar “Why do people do what they do online.”
Fikre, have you gotten into Twitter?
If so, you should tell all your followers about the play you will be in this coming week.
Good luck.
I am an avid twitter user and tweet upwards to three tweets a day. I can definitely agree with words like ‘retweet’ and ‘free’ as one of the most retweeted words. I do, however, disagree with ‘lol’ and ‘haha’ as words least likely to be retweeted. Oftentimes, I retweet what my friends tweet when a joke is incorporated in the tweet. I like retweeting jokes to help my followers calm down during a day’s stresses.
Smart move, Neil ![]()
I’m certain Neil knows how to get retweeted AND get his teacher to recommend him.

A thoughtful comment will not only help people to retweet but the words you use will also can change someone’s life completely. Therefore, any idea is as powerful as the lightning strikes the earth!
